Those of you who’ve seen the movie “Amelie” may remember how her father’s garden gnome mysteriously took a trip around the world and sent him photos. We actually have a gnome courtesy of Travelocity and Stephanie’s dad, but he is currently hibernating with the rest of our stuff.
Our good friend John suggested we take a traveling companion, and he volunteered his own friend Carlos. Carlos is a wooden frog who makes a ‘croaking’ sound when you scrape the ridges on his back with a stick. (Technically he is known as a guiro.)
Anyway, Carlos is with us on our driving tour, and will undoubtedly make many an appearance in photos, so keep your eye out for him. Here he is at the Ohio border:
